What MakanDNA currently collects
MakanDNA is designed to work with very little personal data. We do not currently run advertising pixels or behavioural analytics on the app.
Location
If you choose Use my current location, your browser asks for permission. The current MakanDNA app code compares those coordinates on your device with our stored Singapore area coordinates to choose a nearby pool. The app does not intentionally send your precise coordinates to us or store them in the MakanDNA database.
Correction and feedback reports
When you submit a result correction, the form can include the restaurant, selected pool, issue type, optional note, submission time, time zone and active food filters. These reports are processed through Netlify Forms so we can investigate and maintain the directory.
Cookies and local storage
MakanDNA currently does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The app uses browser local storage to remember a functional preference such as whether wheel sound is turned on or off. This preference stays in your browser unless you clear it.
Hosting data
Like most websites, our hosting provider may process ordinary technical request information needed to serve, secure and operate the site, such as IP addresses, request paths and browser information.
Google Maps and other external links
When you choose Open in Maps, you leave MakanDNA and use a third-party service. That service has its own privacy practices and policies.
Retention
Correction submissions are kept only for as long as reasonably useful for investigating issues, maintaining the food directory and preventing repeated data problems.
